BREAKING
THE MOLD: THE KEE MALESKY STORY
Description:
An entirely fictional coming of age story of the real-life Kee Malesky
(staff librarian at National Public Radio), Breaking the Mold: The Kee
Malesky Story is a quirky, fast-paced comedy, narrated by NPR's Scott Simon.
At age 7, Kee Malesky
had already won a nationwide library research contest and was on her way
to developing a new, more efficient method for cataloguing books that would
replace the Dewey Decimal System. But when Kee's brother, Mo, emerged
as a pee-wee hockey star, Kee quickly slipped into her brother's shadow.
By age 8, Kee Malesky had stopped going to the library altogether.
Ten years later,
Kee is in a deep funk, spending most of her time cataloguing her teen magazine
collection and helping her mother polish Mo's trophies. It will take
guidance from her best friend, Shelly Kugelman, an appearance on a popular
reality television show, and a severe asthma attack induced by toxic mold,
to finally get Kee back on track.
